About Becky McCarty
A Leader for Ennis
-
A Proven Doer: Becky hasn’t just talked about progress; she has built it. From the Welcome Center to the Dallas Street renovations, she has been the driving force turning "paper plans" into reality. She understands the complex mechanics of city infrastructure and knows exactly how to navigate City Hall to get major projects across the finish line.
-
Fiscally Focused: With 20+ years in banking, Becky applies private-sector discipline to public funds. By securing millions in private sponsorships, she has mastered the art of leveraging outside investment to save taxpayer money—proving she knows how a city budget should be managed for maximum efficiency.
-
Small Business Champion: As a current downtown Ennis small business employee and prior small business owner, Becky understands the challenges our local shops face. She knows where the system works and where it fails, and she is committed to a city government that acts as a streamlined partner—not a bureaucratic hurdle—for our local economy.
-
Relationship Builder: True leadership is about more than following a "government script." Becky knows how to unite residents, merchants, and boards to find common-sense solutions. She understands the internal workings of city boards and how to lead them toward results rather than just process.
